ELK LAKE: Exceptionally clean / air conditioned waterfront
cottage on 65 acre fishing lake , known for its Lg. Mouth
Bass /Crappie and Pike.
We offer 2 bedrooms (1 with Queen bed and color cable
tv), (1 with Twin bed) and a Full size pull out sleeper sofa in
the living room. (All mattresses and bedding are new in
2006 and very comfortable).
A full bath with tub and shower.
We Provide = towels , wash cloths, shower soap, shampoo
and hair dryer. A large living room with 2 sofa's, 1 leather
lazy boy, 1 glider, and 1 high boy chair. A color cable tv,
stereo with cd player, vcr with childrens and his and hers
movies. A ceiling fan, his and hers magazines and paper
backs. An eat-in kitchen with full size gas stove / oven (
new in 2006 ) full size fridge (like new), microwave, coffee
maker, toaster, blender, can opener, dishes , glass ware ,
silverware , utensils pots and pans , bake ware, dish soap,
dish towels == we also provide coffee / tea / creamer /
sugar and a large variety of spices.
There is a screened-in patio facing the lake with table
and chairs and in the front yard as well is a fire pit and a
charcoal grill. We have three children's bikes for the kids (
or adventerous adults ) AND a 12 ft. alluminum Jon boat
(flat bottom) with oars, anchors and life jackets == all free
for our guests to use.
There is no phone at the cottage (on purpose) and no
pets are allowed, smoking is allowed on the patio or
out-side please.
There is a bar/restaurant on the lake within walking
distance of the cottage and if you don't want to drive
into Gladwin or West Branch for groceries or gas, there are
3 stores within 5-10 minutes. ELK LAKE is 18 miles NE of
Gladwin & 11 miles S of West Branch ,it is an All-Sport lake
with depths up to 47ft --- it is a marl bottom so you can
swim from the inner tubes at the lake or at the Gladwin
City Park, or the park in Alger, they both are very beautiful
(take a cooler (one at the cottage) something to BBQ
and spend the day ).
Things to do in the area; visit the Showdown Bison Ranch
(check it out on the Internet), Albright Shores for mud bogs
(check it out on the Internet).Hiking trails, bike trails, ORV
trails, festivals, fairs, the Tanger Outlet Mall, and so much
more Chamber of commerce for both Gladwin & West
Branch (Gladwin county----Ogemaw county ).
Snowmobilers, hunters, down hill and x country skiers and
ice fishermen, come and enjoy the winter with us.
Rates are $75.00 Per Night. Rates are for four adults,
additional guests will be $25.00 per person per night extra,
for up to 7-8 maximum. Children are always free. Pets are
negotiable. As well as the screened in patio facing the
lake,we have added a covered deck off the back and a
new washer/dryer set for our guests to use.
Check in time is 2:00pm
Checkout time is 11:00am
Our cancellation policy is= cancelled 30 days from arrival
date a $25.00 cancellation fee will be charged,
cancelled in less than 30 days of arrival date deposit will
be forfited.
We also require a Liability Release Agreement be signed
before occupying the cottage---not to worry , it's to
protect ourselves from losing every thing we have worked
so very hard to aquire. And Last But Not Least = come and
enjoy the call of the loons and see the second to none
